It Hot Time to Chill

Its been very hot this week and its been to hot to take Jax out in the midday sun so we have to take him out further at night. In the day he just wants to chill how he can be comfortable lying like this I dont know. He is still loosing his coat its been a few weeks now and he still has a lot to go by the time he gets a summer coat it will be time for a winter one.

Jax Has a booster

Time and has soon gone and Jax was due his booster. We often pop in the vets to weight him so there is no problems going. He didnt even feel the needle as he was to busy eating a biscuit. He is still loosing his fur by the time he has lost it all it will be time for a new winter coat. He has decided he likes bacon now so some fried bacon and biscuits and he wolfs it down. He still loves pizza and bread and peanut butter.

Jax Gets a Harness

Jax has got a new harness. He walks very good most of the time but does pull when he sees another dog or get excited so we are trying a none pull harness and it seems to work 90% of the time its a bit fiddle to get on as you have to put it over his head and then put a foot in each loop. He is getting the hang of it and does put his foot in ok  most of the time he seems to like it ok as it only tightens around his chest when he pulls. He is still loosing lots of fur but starting to look a bit better but he seems thin as before all the fur hid it. He walks for 5 hours a day so he is all muscle there is no fat on him. There is always food available to him 24/7 so he isnt lacking in food

Jax has a paddle

With the hot weather we have got Jax a paddling pool to keep him cool on hot days. Who get the wettest the dog or us is another matter. He is loosing his winter coat still and looks really patchy with big bald patches were his new fur is shorter than the long winter coat. Brushing twice daily produces load of fur and he look like another dog. He has great fun in the water throwing water out of the pool then running in the house soaking wet

Jax Looses His Fur

The last week or so Jax has been loosing all his puppy fur and no matter how many times you brush him you get loads of fur out of him next time he is getting bald in some places. It should make it better for him in the heat(what Heat?) The heat does make him a bit more subdued but then at night when it get colder he want to go or longer walks.

Jax running

This week we have tried Jax running and towing my son on his skateboard to get him used to sledging and to tire him out a bit. Its a bit frightening as he pulls ok at high speed stopping is something else as we havent taught him that yet. He does tend to bound along more than a straight run you can see he has two feet off the ground all the time He is starting to loose his puppy fur and we are getting fur everywhere at the moment even brushing him doesnt help a lot.

Jax gets a new lead

We have got a new super duper lead for Jax which has lots of clips so it can be 5ft and adjusted down to other lengths it also will hold 190KG the clips are like padlocks and super quality. He is still howling every time a Ambulance goes past the problem being we live on the main route out of town for them so often he is howling when he is in the yard people around must think there is a wolf in the garden.
